The Australian financial-services worker who had the misfortune of viewing provocative photos of Miranda Kerr on his computer screen, all of which was caught during a TV camera interview taking place behind him will keep his job. (Mark wrote about this earlier in the week.)

The Sydney Morning Herald reports:

Macquarie Group broker David Kiely, who was seen live on television opening an email carrying pictures of model Miranda Kerr, will remain at the investment bank.

... On Thursday, the subject of the semi-naked photos - model Miranda Kerr - backed a campaign to save Mr Kiely's job.

Video of the Mr Kiely's gaffe generated hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube and inspired several Facebook pages supporting the banker, as well as a popular "Save Dave" campaign by a London-based business website.

Macquarie said in a statement on Friday it had completed an internal review of the events of February 2 and action had been taken after discussions with the employee.

"He will remain an employee of Macquarie," the statement said.

Of course, if he had been hoping for a raise and a promotion, he may have a long wait coming.
