NHTSA: Prius Probe Prompted By 124 Reports Of Brake Problems

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration "says it has received 124 reports" from Toyota Prius owners about brake problems and that at least four crashes have occurred as a result, NPR's Brian Naylor reports.

That's why, as we reported earlier, NHTSA is opening an investigation into just what may be wrong with some Prius brakes.

This is a separate problem from the sticky accelerators that have forced Toyota to recall more than 4 million vehicles worldwide.
