The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration "says it has received 124 reports" from Toyota Prius owners about brake problems and that at least four crashes have occurred as a result, NPR's Brian Naylor reports.
That's why, as we reported earlier, NHTSA is opening an investigation into just what may be wrong with some Prius brakes.
This is a separate problem from the sticky accelerators that have forced Toyota to recall more than 4 million vehicles worldwide.
