Rap superstar Lil Wayne is finally getting started on his one-year jail sentence for gun possession.
After a delay of about a month so that he could have dental surgery and after a fire last week shut down Manhattan's main criminal courthouse, Lil Wayne was just taken away in handcuffs from a New York City courtroom, the Associated Press reports. And as the AP adds:
"He'll serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior."
He crime was having a loaded gun on his tour bus. New York has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. He was arrested in July 2007.
