A local Tea Party activist in Danville, Va., says he is "shocked" and "almost speechless" that someone may have cut a line connecting a propane tank to a gas grill at the home of a Democratic congressman's brother.

That home was mistakenly identified online by Tea Party activist Nigel Coleman, and by the Virginia6th blog, as being the residence of Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Va. The congressman has been the object of strong criticism from Tea Party supporters for his "yes" vote on the health care overhaul legislation. In fact, the address that was posted is that of Perriello's brother, Bo.

"I obviously condemn these actions," Coleman told the Charlottesville Daily Progress today. "I would hope that people aren't thinking about doing anything crazy. We just wanted people to get close to the congressman and have their voices heard. Violence is not going to answer anything. I'm a little shocked and amazed."

Politico says the FBI and local authorities are investigating the incident. Albemarle County spokesoman Lee Catlin tells the Daily Progress that there was no "immediate threat" to anyone from the damaged line.

When he learned earlier this week that he had posted the wrong address, Coleman called the mistake "collateral damage."
