Another day, another story that until recently would have been local news but takes now gets national attention because it involves a Toyota.

From Westchester County (N.Y.), The Journal News reports that:

"Harrison police said a 56-year-old woman smashed a 2005 Prius into a stone wall Tuesday after a stuck accelerator pedal 'shot' the vehicle forward."

The driver suffered only minor injuries.

As we reported yesterday, and as All Things Considered detailed, federal investigators are heading to California to find out why a Toyota Prius raced out of control Monday on a San Diego Freeway.

The Associated Press offers this video report on that incident in California. It includes some of the audio from the 911 call that the driver made while his car speeding down the highway:

Toyota has recalled millions of vehicles because of accelerator-related problems. Its list of which models are affected is posted here.
