She told jokes on Leno.

The word from Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other news media that focus on the entertainment biz is that 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's much-rumored TV show is headed for one of the Discovery network's cable channels.

According to Variety: "Sarah Palin's Alaska will center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in the 49th state — with the ex-VP candidate as a guide."

She has been on at least one of Discovery's shows before. There's a clip here from her 2009 appearance on The Learning Channel's American Chopper. And Palin certainly has lots of TV experience — she's now a Fox News contributor and recently did a little stand-up on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Most folks seem to have strong opinions about the former Alaska governor. What about this new venture?

Update at 12:45 p.m. ET. On her Facebook page, Palin has laid out for supporters the 20 House districts to "take back" in 2010. "We're paying particular attention to those House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election," she says.
