As NPR's Neda Ulaby says, the $106.5 million that an unidentified buyer paid last night for Pablo Picasso's 1932 work Nude Green Leaves, and Bust means that somebody out there isn't feeling the pinch of hard economic times:
The previous record for art sold at auction, the Associated Press says, was $104.3 million for a sculpture — Walking Man 1 — by Alberto Giacometti.
