Israel, Lebanon Trade Blame For Violence

Reports indicate at least two people died in fighting today at the border between Israel and Lebanon.  The Israeli Foreign Ministry says Lebanon started it:

An IDF force was fired upon from within Lebanon. The soldiers were on routine activity in Israeli territory, in an area that lies between the "blue line" (the internationally recognized border between Israel and Lebanon) and the security fence, thus within Israeli territory.

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman says Israel started it:

...the latest Israeli breach of resolution 1701 by crossing the blue line, violating Lebanese properties and attacking a Lebanese Army checkpoint in Adaiyssi.

So far the only point of agreement is that UN Resolution 1701, written to resolve the 2006 Israel/Lebanon conflict, was breached.
