The temperamental British fashion model testified at former Liberian leader Charles Taylor's war crimes trial today, saying two strange men gave her a pouch with the stones. Campbell was describing a 1997 dinner party hosted by South African president Nelson Mandela where she met Taylor. She says the mysterious men appeared at her door after she'd gone to her room for the night, saying they had a "gift" for her. Campbell said she doesn't know for certain the stones were from Taylor and hasn't seen him again. Prosecutors are interested in Campbell's gems because they allege Taylor traded diamonds for guns for his fighters. Earlier this year, Campbell denied the story of the diamond gift to ABC News, even hitting a camera to prove her point. Today she testified Taylor was someone she read about that had supposedly killed thousands of people. Taylor says the war crimes charges are rumors and lies.
