Jay Carney To Be Next White House Press Secretary

Jay Carney will be the next White House press secretary. Carney, once a reporter covering the White Houses of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush for Time magazine, has most recently been the communications chief for Vice President Joe Biden.

Carney replaces Robert Gibbs, who the AP describes as "an outsized presence as a counselor" to the president.

From the AP:

"The decision is part of a package of new personnel changes at the White House."

"Among the other moves to be announced Thursday: White House officials Alyssa Mastromonaco and Nancy-Ann DeParle will be promoted to deputy chief of staff positions."
