Rep. Giffords' Husband To Fly April Space Shuttle Mission

Charles Dharapak/APMark Kelly, the astronaut husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, will fly on the space shuttle Endeavour in April, according to an unnamed source cited by the AP.
Kelly, 46, had been unsure if he would go ahead and command the two-week mission as planned after his wife was shot in the head during a public appearance on January 8 in Arizona. Six people were killed and 12 other injured in the attack that nearly took Gifford's life.
Kelly is holding a news conference today at noon in Houston to announce his decision.
The veteran astronaut has flown on three previous shuttle missions. Endeavour's trip to the International Space Station will be its last flight into space. The shuttle program is ending this year and Endeavour will fly the next-to-last mission.
Update at 11:14 a.m. ET: NASA is now confirming that Kelly will fly on the Endeavour.
