With 3 to 5 inches of snow expected overnight in Chicago, and with 27 inches already having fallen this month in the city, it looks like a record set in 1896 is about to be broken.
The Chicago Tribune says the most snow Chicago ever recorded in February is the 27.8 inches that fell way back when Grover Cleveland was president and 11 years before the Cubs became the Cubs.
It looks like it won't take long for a new record to be set. According to the National Weather Service, by around midnight local time there may be more than an inch of snow falling per hour.
Chicagoans will surely recall how the month began, with hundreds of motorists trapped on the Lake Shore Drive:
