The Fox Business Network announced Thursday its plans for a new evening show hosted by Lou Dobbs, with a familiar name and time slot: Lou Dobbs Tonight at 7 p.m.
He anchored a program with the same title and time for CNN, where he was the founding financial anchor until his departure in the fall of 2009 after repeatedly clashing with executives over his pursuit of such topics as President Obama's place of birth.
At Fox Business, however, executives welcomed him into the fold as an opinion host. The announcement said, "Dobbs will examine the news of the day with a focus how [sic] it affects American taxpayers."
The new show's inaugural episode will air on Monday March 14. It will include a daily segment looking and trends in the financial markets, to be called "Lou Dobbs' Moneyline" - the name of one of his original shows on CNN.
