Warner Bros. May Buy Social Media Site Flixster

All Things Digital reports Warner Brothers, the movie studio, is in the lead in talks to purchase social media/movie site, Flixster. The deal would give the studio access to thousands of Flixster movie fans who watch many films for free via Facebook or their mobile devices. Warner Bros. just began experimenting with streaming its films through Facebook, most recently 'The Dark Knight'; the Los Angeles Times says the studio plans to compete with other online entities such as Netflix, Apple and Hulu.

Flixster also has its Rotten Tomatoes movie rating site and entertainment news. The LA Times reports the cash purchase could be as much as $90 million dollars.
