Deadly Tornadoes Captured On Video

Update at 12:30 p.m. ET: The death toll has risen to nine people; the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports seven victims died in Arkansas.

Our original post: At least seven people died when powerful storms blew through the Midwest overnight, according to Reuters. At least five people died in Arkansas, including a child who was crushed by a falling tree. The power is out in much of Little Rock, schools are closed and several highways are blocked.

Two people died in Oklahoma, where the National Weather Service says two tornadoes touched down in the eastern part of the state. The Tulsa World reports investigators may find evidence of more twisters.

Storm chasers captured video of the gigantic Oklahoma tornados, which the Washington Post calls a 'wedge' tornado, because of its appearance.
