NPR Wins Webby For Best News Site

The winners of the 15th annual Webby Awards were announced this morning and NPR.org is among the honorees.

Presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, Webby awards cover a broad list of categories.

Each category, in turn, has two types of winners: "The Webby Award" is bestowed by members of the academy; "The People's Voice" award is determined by online votes from people around the world.

NPR's honors:

— Webby Award winner for News.

— People's Voice winner for News.

— Webby Award winner for Radio/Podcasts.

— People's Voice winner for Radio/Podcasts.

— People's Voice winner for Politics.

NPR Music was a nominee in the Music category (in which Pandora won both the Webby Award and People's Voice award).

Update at 11:55 a.m. ET. And Another One For NPR.

We missed this in our first look through the lists: NPR's Mobile site was a People's Voice winner in the "News-Handheld Devices" category.
