Dents On Car From Elderly Victim's Cane Lead To Robbery Suspects

From the "no-way" news department:

Police say that when two would-be robbers snatched an 82-year-old woman's purse Friday night in New Castle, Pa., they also left the scene with some dents in the trunk of their car — courtesy of a well-wielded cane.

And those dents are among the evidence that has landed the suspects in jail.

Pittsburgh's WPXI-TV has the story. It seems the victim, or perhaps the 89-year-old woman she was with (there are contradictory accounts as of this morning), whacked the vehicle a couple times before the robbers got away.

Then, according to WPXI, "several tips led police to the vehicle. ... Investigators said the dents on the trunk were an exact match to the woman's cane."

Jerry Brown Jr., 27, and 21-year-old Tatiana Vargas were arrested. They "are also facing additional charges for similar crimes in North Carolina and Union Township [Pa.], the TV station says.
