A Young Public Radio Fan's Very NPR Christmas

On Christmas Eve, as visions of sugar-plums (and Barbie and Buzz Lightyear and Lego) danced in children's heads, one nine-year-old California boy heard voices in his. Caetano, the boy, was recalling the day's events as reported by NPR hosts Neal Conan, Renee Montagne and Michele Norris – too excited to sleep in anticipation of a visitor from the North Pole.

Yep, that's right; at age 9, Caetano is already a huge NPR fan. His mom tells us that her son's enthusiasm is so strong he would rather listen to the radio than do his homework (which, Mom also notes, he loves to do), and he has toured their local station KAZU.

Imagine the fledgling newshound's surprise when he unwrapped this little number from Santa – a collection of signed photos from NPR hosts and journalists.

According to mom, Caetano said this was the best Christmas gift since he got his bike. One thing did puzzle him, though – he wanted to know how Santa got those autographs!? Well, guess what little listener — the big guy's got even better sources than NPR.

Caetano found the perfect spot for his present and can now put faces to his favorite voices. Sweet dreams, buddy, and thanks for listening.

Happy holidays and wishing everyone all the best in the new year.

Special thanks to Caetano's family for sharing a little seasonal joy.
