Yesterday, NPR Pentagon Reporter Tom Bowman learned from several sources, including government officials, that General David Petraeus is being seriously considered for CIA director. He also reported that the current head of the agency, Leon Panetta, is seen as the top replacement for Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who says he will step down this year.
