Need your weekly dance mix fix? Look no further than Metropolis, a live, two-hour electronic music show hosted by DJ Jason Bentley, an industry leader and fearless champion of discovering beats that get your feet moving.

Each week listeners are treated to Bentley's carefully crafted playlists featuring new artists like French techno star Gesaffelstein and German producer Tensnake. The podcast take on the weekly show includes Bentley's pick of producers and DJs, like British electronic music producer Jon Hopkins.

Spinning live from LA-based KCRW, Metropolis recently made its NPR Music debut. To kick off this partnership-made-in-dance-music-heaven, NPR Music and KCRW streamed a live webcast this week at New York's Le Poisson Rouge featuring Bentley and electronic-rock group Cut Copy.

Bentley is no newcomer to public radio. An influential DJ in his own right, his impressive resume also includes Music Director at KCRW and host of the station's popular weekday music show Morning Becomes Eclectic since 2008.

This is NPR caught up with Bentley himself to talk about Metropolis:

What's your Metropolis elevator pitch?

Bentley: A smart mix of contemporary electronic dance music from one of the leading tastemakers in the genre worldwide.

How do you select the music featured on the show?

Disclosure's Guy and Howard Lawrence with Jason Bentley.

Bentley: I respond to my ear and instinct for the genre. I've been involved in the dance culture for many years, giving me an exceptional view of the field in terms of the most exciting sounds and significant figures in the scene.

What sets Metropolis apart from other music podcasts?

Bentley: For a thoughtful survey of what's exciting in dance music and club culture trends, it doesn't get much better. Especially as a counterpoint to the saccharin sweet pop coverage of what's being termed EDM [electronic dance music] today.

What's your must-listen-to album of the moment?

Bentley: The Disclosure album, "Settle", if you're not already familiar, will likely make many best of the year lists, and my bet is on a Grammy nomination next month as well. Editor's Note: Hear Bentley's recent interview with Disclosure.
