Tuesday marks the release of San Francisco journalist Ben Fong-Torres' new biography of the blues-rock band Little Feat. The book, Willin': The Story of Little Feat, is named after the group's best-known song.

During this interview, Fong-Torres discusses the history of Little Feat, a band with a string of widely beloved albums in the '70s. The band's founder and lead guitarist, singer-songwriter Lowell George, died in 1979 at 34; Fong-Torres talks about how George's life story is intertwined with the history of the band.
