Describe your gear.

I built my acoustic guitar with luthier Don Musser and I play a National Estralita resonator guitar.

Do you think being a woman and a musician is different from being a man and a musician? If so, how? Was there a moment that made a difference clear to you?

"Absolutely. Mostly you're not taken seriously until you blow someone away or are given major kudos by someone famous.. and even then you're still considered second class. For example, most people don't seem to want to believe that I built my guitar."

Do you see differences between generations of women musicians?

Yes. Equality is becoming more real in everyway not just professionally.

Did anyone ever give you any valuable advice about making your way in the music industry? What advice would you give to a woman musician just starting out?

Iris Dement told me years ago that the only way to go is your own way. To be yourself and that way you can't have any regrets.
