"Pelosi" and related terms ("the speaker") have been used a total of 303 times by the politicians and political influencers that NPR is tracking.
Why We're Tracking This: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has joined President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid among the Democrats who Republicans most like to cite when they try to scare voters about "socialist" liberals. The "Obama-Pelosi agenda" has become a target for scorn.

Word To Watch: October 18, 2010
'Pelosi' Is A Much-Discussed, And Maligned, Speaker
October 18, 2010 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is dismissive about, as CBS News' 'Sunday Morning' puts it, being "a punching bag for Republicans."
"Who cares?" she said on the show this weekend.
The Fighting Words database certainly shows just how much of a punching bag she's become. Among the names in our list of words to watch, the California Democrat's is second only to President Obama in number of mentions.
As of this morning, "Pelosi" had been used about 260 times. House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio, in contrast, had been mentioned only about 50 times (of course, if he becomes speaker next year, his profile could increase dramatically).
And what's being said about Pelosi? There's a lot of talk among Republicans about the "Fire Pelosi Bus Tour" that's traveling the nation (it's in Minnesota this week). And many of those GOP contenders are trying to link their opponents to the speaker as closely as they can.
"This year voters have a clear choice between the failed policies of Dina Titus and Nancy Pelosi or a new direction that includes balanced budgets, lower taxes and policies that are friendly to southern Nevada families and businesses," says Nevada Republican congressional candidate Joe Heck in a new ad.
As for Democrats' mentions of Pelosi, Fighting Words doesn't turn up too many that aren't coming from the speaker's campaign itself. An exception: Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' Facebook post noting that Boehner "votes with Nancy Pelosi a majority of the time."
UPDATE AT 8:45 a.m., Oct. 19: Politico writes today that Boehner "has all but disappeared from the radar screen during the past few weeks" as he seeks to "avoid the unscripted moments and uncomfortable public questions that could create an eleventh-hour gaffe that would fire up an apathetic Democratic base."
