    Lincoln Under Heavy Threat

Blanche Lincoln (D), first elected in 1998, is seeking a third term. In May, she dispatched her problem on the left, in the form of a primary challenge from Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Halter, backed by the SEIU and other unions, argued that Lincoln was, in effect, a DINO -- a Democrat In Name Only. But once she beat Halter, in a runoff, her problem became her right flank. Rep. John Boozman leads in every matchup between the two candidates. In a state where Barack Obama didn't fare well in 2008 -- and his numbers are worse now -- Lincoln is perhaps the nation's most vulnerable incumbent going into November. -Ken Rudin
