Kilroy, Stivers Duke It Out In Rematch

This is a rematch of a close 2008 race. The district, centered around Columbus, has long been in Republican hands, but in recent years the GOP support was tenuous. That ended in '08, when Deborah Pryce (R) retired and Mary Jo Kilroy beat Steve Stivers by 2,000-plus votes. Stivers never stopped running and is thought to have the lead in the rematch. Kilroy's case was hurt by a report alleging that she was among a handful of Democratic incumbents close to being abandoned by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee because of her precarious electoral position. -Ken Rudin
