          Long-Serving Edwards Is Vulnerable

Chet Edwards, in his 10th term, has long been in the Republicans' crosshairs and yet has always managed to survive -- even if the margins have been uncomfortably close for him. Probably the only vulnerable incumbent in the entire Texas delegation, Edwards voted against the health care bill and has paid attention to veterans and military issues. Challenger Bill Flores is a businessman who has taken Edwards to task for what he says are the Democrats' irresponsible spending votes. -Ken Rudin
