Thune A Sure Bet In South Dakota

John Thune (R), first elected in 2004, is seeking a second term. Thune became a national GOP celebrity in 2004 when he knocked off the Democratic leader in the Senate, Tom Daschle. Since then he has found his name mentioned as a potential presidential or vice presidential candidate. And this year the Democrats didn't even put up a candidate to run against him ... the only Senate incumbent to be unopposed in this cycle. -Ken Rudin
