Parnell Likely To Power Through

Sean Parnell (R) succeeded to the governorship following the resignation of Sarah Palin (R) in July 2009. The race for governor has, understandably, taken a backseat to the battle for Lisa Murkowski's Senate seat. There had once been talk that Parnell would face a slew of challengers for the GOP nomination, but that never happened. Republicans are confident that Parnell will defeat Ethan Berkowitz, the former state House minority leader who gave Rep. Don Young (R) a scare in 2008. -Ken Rudin
