Beebe Looks Tough To Beat
Barack Obama received just 38 percent of the vote here in 2008, Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) is in the fight of her life, and Republicans have a chance at picking up two open House seats this year. But it was the Senate race that attracted the interest of the state GOP -- not the governorship. Mike Beebe (D), elected governor four years ago to succeed term-limited Republican Mike Huckabee, remains a popular figure and will be tough to defeat. His Republican opponent, former state Sen. Jim Keet, lost a bid for Congress back in 1990. -Ken Rudin
