Compatibility continues to be a problem. An unfortunate truth is that as each codec supports more protocols it becomes more difficult to operate.

As the use of ISDN goes up, so does the instance of calls that are much longer than they need to be. This is primarily because neither party remembers to hang up at the conclusion of a feed.

This mistake can run into the hundreds of dollars because although domestic calls cost around $.25 per minute, international calls are more like $2.50 per minute.

The rule of thumb is..."If you placed the call, hang up the call".
Add to that a rule for the other thumb..."If the far side placed the call, you can still hang up the call and save them money".
