Three women with superhuman voices — Angelique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves & Lizz Wright — have been touring together under the banner Sing The Truth! The idea is to perform songs of empowerment and love, mostly written by women; in this case it's music by Miriam Makeba, Mahalia Jackson, Abbey Lincoln, Odetta, Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, Ike Turner, Mick Jagger and more. In front of a band directed by drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, Kidjo, Reeves and Wright sing for a huge crowd on the opening night of the 2011 Detroit Jazz Festival.
