The Lost Brothers On Mountain Stage

November 15, 2012 The Irish indie-folk singers, though not actually brothers, met nearly a decade ago while working with other bands. After writing songs together when they had spare time, they soon decided to form a singing duo. The Lost Brothers' new album, The Passing of the Night, was recorded in Nashville.

The Irish indie-folk duo The Lost Brothers makes its first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live on the campus of Ohio University in Athens. Oisin Leech and Mark McCausland aren't actually brothers; they met nearly a decade ago, while they were both working with other bands in Liverpool. The two began writing songs together in their spare time, and liked the results so much that they decided to form a singing duo.

Their latest record, The Passing of the Night, was recorded in Nashville and produced by Brendan Benson of The Raconteurs. Intricate guitar work and tight harmonies dominate the duo's five-song set; "Bird in a Cage" wasn't heard during the radio broadcast.

Leech and McCausland are followed here by Mountain Stage band vocalist Julie Adams, with a cover of The Beach Boys' "Sail On, Sailor."

Set List
  • "Pale Moon"
  • "Bird In A Cage"
  • "Angry At The Sun"
  • "City Of The Rose"
  • "Now That The Night Has Come"
  • "Sail On, Sailor" (Julie Adams)
