Pharis And Jason Romero: Appalachia From British Columbiafolkalley

Pharis and Jason Romero live in a tiny town called Horsefly. This might sound like some relic of the old west, preserved through Hollywood movies and antiquated lore, but it's a real live town in British Columbia. And the music they make – though it, too, sounds like it's been pulled from long ago and far away – is a product of their authentic creative spirit.

Here, on the title track from their new album Long Gone Out West Blues, this husband-and-wife duo display that authenticity through tight, easy-feeling harmonies and a handful of impressive, clean guitar runs. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the song feels like it's been rolling along a dusty plain out west for decades, just waiting to be picked up and sung.
