Gabriel Kahane makes his first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, W.Va. A composer and singer-songwriter, Kahane — like Kate Miller-Heidke, who appeared later on the same show — uses his classical training to create a distinct strand of American folk-pop music.

Though currently based in New York, Kahane has spent most of his life in California. His latest album, The Ambassador, has been described as a portrait of Los Angeles as viewed through the lens of 10 street addresses.
