Welcome to Intern Edition!

By luck, design, or perhaps a little prodding from an NPR intern, you've found your way to Intern Edition Summer 2008. Welcome!

Since 1999, NPR interns have been traipsing the streets of D.C. and beyond to create their very own audio program as part of the Next Generation Radio Project. This summer, we've also brought you additional audio features, slideshows and photogalleries, reporters' notebooks and all manner of other web extras.

This summer, our intrepid interns found stories everywhere, from rural Maryland and the far reaches of the Bronx to Guatemala and the California coast, from a Hindu temple to a kebob shop. Interns created everything you'll hear and see here, with the support of the best reporters, producers, and editors in the news business.

Enjoy your journey through our little web creation. Check out our blog to read our musings on the world around us. Read our bios to learn more about where we come from, and where we hope to go next. Whatever we do next, we'll do it better because of our experiences at NPR.

Enjoy!

Executive Producer, Summer 2008
