Cherries Bloom In The District

I wandered down to the Tidal Basin in DC on Thursday to enjoy the sunset and to capture the finale of the peak bloom season of some 300 cherry trees that line the waterfront.

Each year, around April 4th, the trees bloom and attract thousands of visitors from all over the world.

The trees were given to the United States by Japan in 1912.

Your exquisite photos brought tears to my eyes. Your stunning work brought me back to the spring when my oldest son was a student at GW and we walked around the Tidal Basin. Experiencing the cherry blossoms in D.C. was a delight to the senses, and your amazing photos share the visual beauty.
