Fewer Songs Considered Vol. II: The Nostalgia Show
After all the attention we received following the first installment of Fewer Songs Considered, we thought we’d take another crack at it during our final ‘official’ week as music interns. Again, we weren’t sure if all four of us would be able to carve away the time to devote to a recording session, but when Jordan suddenly appeared at NPR on his day off, we knew it was meant to be and immediately took to Production Room 1 to start taping.
Perhaps it was the cake we had earlier that day, but without even realizing it, all four of us picked songs that made us oddly nostalgic. Maybe it’s that time of year. Be it unsettling memories of dismal childhood birthday presents or a ’60s Beach Boys summer haze, each of the tunes this week takes us down memory lane to times both joyous… and unusual.

EDIT: Upon receiving Patrick Watson’s new CD, Wood Arms, it turns out that “Man Like You” is indeed on it, in its full form. So buy his CD and listen away! The whole thing is fantastic.
