There’s a little not-so-secret secret about Intern Edition we’re going to let you in on. Each semester’s group of interns try to outdo the previous one. Nowhere is this best seen but in the “About the Interns” section. Last semester’s Polaroid project was so impressive, we knew we had to really get our act together if we wanted to top that.
The goal of the project was to show a little bit of each intern’s personality. When people visit the site, they are not looking for someone’s life story, but rather a little snippet about what makes them unique enough to end up at NPR for the summer. As powerful as still images can be, we decided that video was the best medium.
The result is an impressive multimedia collaboration with contributions from Anna Tauzin (Flash and interactive design), Brandon Neil (video production and post production) and Katie Hayes & Georgia Rhodes (photography and lighting), we were able to create what we think is the best “About the Interns” section yet. But then, we’re biased. Enjoy.

Was it their choice or yours?
Are you kidding? Why would we purposely exclude our fellow interns? The choice was theirs, I assure you. We had multiple film days and make-up shoots; the people listed told me they did not want to be on camera. However, instead of leaving them out altogether, we thought it best to include their name somewhere.
I am a little hurt by your allegation.
