High-Income Filers Give More

Americans with incomes over $200,000 account for more than a third of the nation's charitable contributions while making up less than 10 percent of itemizing tax filers, according to an NPR analysis of Internal Revenue Service data. President Obama has proposed reducing the value of tax deductions for charitable giving among those earning more than $250,000 a year.
