Jobless In May

Unemployment rates increased in 48 states and the District of Columbia in May, topping 10 percent in 13 states. The nation's highest jobless rate continues to be in Michigan at 14.1 percent. The national unemployment rate was 9.4 percent in May, the highest rate in more than 25 years.
