Speaking at a military hospital in Germany, two U.S. Army sergeants and a Marine wounded in combat describe their ordeals in Iraq. The men express surprise at the amount of resistance they faced from Iraqis, and tell of Iraqi troops disguising themselves in civilian dress. NPR's Emily Harris reports. March 27, 2003

Iraq: More than 350 Killed in First Week of War
Iraq's health minister says more than 350 civilians have been killed since the war began, including 36 in Baghdad over the past 24 hours. Most of the victims died in an attack on a commercial district in the city; Iraqi officials blame the bombing on U.S. missiles, but the Pentagon says it did not target the area. Nevada Town Mourns Loss of Marine
NPR's Howard Berkes visits Tonopah, Nev., the home of 2nd Lt. Fred Pokorney. Lt. Pokorney was killed along with eight other Marines on Sunday in Iraq. He leaves behind a wife and 2-year-old daughter, and friends and neighbors who remember him as an exemplary person and oustanding Marine. March 27, 2003

NPR's Wade Goodwyn reports on the family and friends who are awaiting news on the 507th Maintenance Company, which came under attack after losing its way in southern Iraq on Sunday. Two soldiers are confirmed dead, while several others have become prisoners or are missing. March 27, 2003

Military Families, Friends Mourn Toll of War
The Defense Department says the war in Iraq has claimed 24 American lives. Another seven are held as prisoners, and six are listed as missing in action. Across the country, families and friends grieve for their loved ones. NPR's David Molpus reports. March 26, 2003

Pentagon Denies U.S. Airstrike Targeted Iraqi Citizens
A Baghdad marketplace is bombed, killing as many as 30 civilians. The Pentagon says it did not target the area, and is investigating whether stray missiles or Iraqi weapons may have been the cause.
