Eastern New Orleans

Neighborhood Description: Eastern New Orleans (aka New Orleans East) is part of the Ninth Ward. It includes areas to the east of the Industrial Canal, home to the neighborhoods of Seabrook, Lake Forest East, Lake Forest West, and Village de L'Est, known for its Vietnamese population. The Lakefront Airport and Joe W. Brown Park are located in Eastern New Orleans.

Damage After Katrina: The area suffered from storm surge, wind damage and major flooding.

State of Reconstruction: The area is still mostly deserted, and as with Lakeview and the Lower Ninth Ward, it will be years before the area could be considered a viable neighborhood.
