October 12, 1999 Wilt Chamberlain has died in Los Angeles. Chamberlain was one of basketball's greatest stars and the only player ever to score 100 points in an NBA game. Chamberlain, 63, starred during the 1960s and 70s. A dominating 7-foot center, he was the most prolific offensive player of his time. But his personal heroics were often overshadowed by his chief rival, Bill Rusell of the Boston Celtics.
