Submit your music
All Songs Considered accepts submissions from established musicians for play on the show or on All Things Considered. We also accept music from unsigned, self-produced and independent artists for our Open Mic show. You do not need to submit twice to be considered for both. If we use your music on either show, we will contact you. Please read the following instructions carefully; they will help us in listening to and finding a spot for your music.
To submit for the main All Songs Considered show or All Things Considered
If you are an established musician or signed to a label with national distribution: - mail your CD and contact information to:

To submit music for the All Songs Considered Open Mic
Open Mic is a forum for music that is not widely known or available. We look for material that is original and different from what we usually hear. If you are an unsigned, independent and/or self-produced artist, please follow these instructions:
- First, you need to audition. Send us a CD of your music. We do not accept electronic submissions. Please do not attach any audio files to an e-mail. Any e-mails with attached audio files will be automatically deleted. We are looking only for wholly independent, unsigned or self-produced artists. If you are a more established musician or on a professionally distributed label, you can submit your music for possible use on our regular All Songs Considered program.
- Print, fill out and sign the submissions form below and be sure to follow the instructions.
- Wait. Do not write or call us. It may take five weeks or more from the time we get your music to hear a sample of it. We get hundreds of CDs each week and listen to a sample of everything that hits our desk. However, we cannot guarantee that we will listen to your entire CD or put your music on the show.
- If you pass the audition, we will call or e-mail you before putting you on the program.
- Because of staff limitations, we are unable to contact artists who do not make it past the audition. We are also unable to return CDs.

One well-placed piece of tape is sufficient. You will not be graded on your scissor skills.
If your CD is in a cardboard or paper case, put the form on the back. Do not tape it directly to the cover art.
Do not send a cover letter, press release or any photos.
Please do not over-package your submission. A simple padded envelope will do. Additional tape, bubble wrap or sealed boxes make it harder for us to get to your music.
Please remove any shrink wrap from your CD.

In consideration of the inclusion of the Materials in National Public Radio, Inc.'s ("NPR") program All Songs Considered ("ASC") (the "Program"), the undersigned irrevocably grants to NPR the transferable right to reproduce, transmit, retransmit, distribute, archive, digitize, display, publicly perform, copy, stream, customize and digitally distribute including, but not limited to, downloads, on-demand and interactive uses, the Materials, in whole or in part, on a non-exclusive basis, worldwide, in perpetuity in any media now or hereafter known. NPR shall have the right to edit the Materials at its sole discretion.

The undersigned also consents to the use of its name and the name of the Artist in connection with the use of the Materials on the Program or with any credits that may be received in the distribution of the Materials and any publicly and related institutional promotional purposes NPR may undertake.
