An 1806 map made by Nez Perce Indians for William Clark

The map of Lewis' River and Clark's River, made at Camp Choppunnish on the Clearwater River, shows names of tribes and a diagram of rivers. Circular stains were made by a hot kettle placed on map. The map is rare -- only about 100 maps made by Native Americans have survived.
