Lou Santacroce
Host, At The Opera (sm)

Lou Santacroce began his public radio career as a volunteer at KLCC in Eugene, Oregon. After two years producing features on jazz artists and hosting jazz programs, he became a reporter for Utica, New York’s news/talk station, WIBX-AM. There, he hosted a music program called "Masters of Jazz" and an arts and features program called "Sunday Brunch."

Santacroce has a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota and a Language Arts teacher certification from the University of Oregon. He taught high school English in Winnemucca, Nevada (an Indian word meaning "the last place on earth"), and GED English in Eugene, Oregon.

After moving back to the East Coast, a trip to the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, New York re-kindled Santacroce’s youthful passion for opera. He began devoting about a third of "Sunday Brunch" programs to opera and opera-related features, including interviews with singers, composers, and authors like Paul Kellogg, Stewart Robertson, Anthony Dean Griffey, Carlisle Floyd, Jane Glover, Phyliss Poncella and others.
