Across cultures and across time, men and women have written about death.
On the pages that follow, you will find selections from novels and short
stories, poems, religious rituals, clinical research, scripts for plays
and television & radio programs, and private accounts of the experiences
of just some of the many people who have written about their encounters
with the dying, with death itself, and with bereavement. Also included are
photographs that speak to some of the feelings and emotions, memories and
stories associated with the end of life and with the life-review that often
comes in a person's final days.
The Readings are presented in no particular order; feel free to browse
awhile and come back later and browse some more.
