Luciana Souza: 'New Bossa Nova' In Concert

At the Kennedy Center's aptly named Family Theater in Washington, D.C., a six-months-pregnant Luciana Souza walked onstage and turned in profile to show off her belly. Hailing from Brazil, the Grammy-winning chanteuse sings material from The New Bossa Nova.

The bossa nova style comes naturally to Luciana Souza. In "O Pato," the Brazilian-born chanteuse sings (and quacks) in Portuguese in a light-hearted concert moment at the Kennedy Center.

Bireli Lagrene At The Cully Jazz Festival

The phenomenal Bireli Lagrene can play anything, but his music extends a vital French tradition. The French guitarist has celebrated the hot club jazz of Django Reinhardt ever since the release of his first CD at age 13. Here, Lagrene performs with the Lausanne Big Band at a concert recorded in Switzerland.
