Matthew L. McGann was born Southampton, NY in 1979. After attending Catholic school for his elementary years, he graduated from Hampton Bays High School in only 3 years. From there, he went on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he became a management major.

Aside from from his regular studies, Matt had taken on a great many extra-curricular roles at M.I.T. including Treasurer for the Association of Student Activities, member of the Graduate Student Council Funding Board, and President of the Undergraduate Association. He has also written for M.I.T. publications Counterpoint magazine and The M.I.T. Observer.
