Jim Wildman
Producer

Jim Wildman Producer Jim Wildman was hired by Morning Edition in 1997 to play center field for the NPR softball team. For him, it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream -- for the team, it meant the average player age dropped to 47. Jim originally wanted to be a bird (ask his parents). But when that didn't work out, he threw himself into baseball, soccer, singing -- then radio. He helped run an Olympics news agency during the 1996 Atlanta Games. (Instead of pins, Jim collected free T-shirts.) When he and his family moved to Washington, he quickly learned that an NPR job doesn't come with a lot of free T-shirts. It's a wonderful job, though, and he's been blessed to have the opportunity to tell OTHER people's stories for so long. Play ball!
